| so this is all from hearsay and photos: 1) Unbelievable sprawl. Hillsides covered in what appear to be dominoes, just waiting to knock each other down in the next mudslide. 2) Earthquakes - having never experienced one myself, I fear them. I hear they're not all that, but you never know when the next big one will hit. And there are the mudslides and forest fires for other natural disasters. 3) The housing prices. I feel raped enough by the market here, and it's worse there. 4) The Governator. 5) I've had glamorous mover-and-shaker friends move to LA, only to move back because there was too much attitude for them there. 6) Or you can take SF, where I've had friends complain of the neo-hippy peace-and-love-in-your-face attitude. 7) Apparent profiling of performance-oriented vehicles. With all that removed, it really does sound like heaven on earth. I would definitely like to visit someday, but I'm afraid I'll want to move there and then have to put up with all the above. Is it worth the trade for cold winters and an overabundance of unfriendly suits? I'm not sure.
